SBI Group and Chainlink will offer a host of blockchain-based tools aimed at financial institutions, starting in Japan and then the Asia-Pacific under a new partnership.

SBI partners with Circle, Ripple and Startale to launch stablecoin ventures and a tokenized asset trading platform in Japan.

Circle announced that its USDC stablecoin will launch on Japan’s SBI VC Trade crypto exchange on March 26.

Following registration, SBI VC Trade expects to launch its first USDC stablecoin transactions for selected users on March 12.

SBI Group’s fully-owned crypto exchange, SBI VC Trade, will assist Metaplanet in its Bitcoin strategy by providing various support in trading, storage and operation.

The partnership strengthens SBI’s position in the Web3 gaming sector while enhancing Oasys’ token liquidity.

The Japanese joint venture will focus on ETFs and other “emerging asset classes,” including digital assets and cryptocurrency.

Ripple has partnered with HashKey DX to introduce XRP Ledger-based blockchain solutions to the Japanese market.

Domestic firms are required to pay tax on paper gains from their cryptocurrency holdings but under proposed tax reforms, would only need to do so when they sell the asset.

Traditional financial firms are increasingly connecting services, portfolios and operations with digital assets.

They have signed a memorandum of understanding on digital asset investment and semiconductor production.

OQC is also launching what it calls “the world’s first enterprise ready quantum computing platform.”

The agreement was made in a memorandum of understanding, but SBI Holdings must first register as an electronic payment instruments service provider in the country.

SC Ventures will establish a “Digital Asset Joint Venture” investment company in partnership with a Japanese financial conglomerate, SBI Holdings.

SBI Holdings will work with UAE firm TradeFinex on a Japanese joint venture to boost the adoption of its enterprise blockchain platform on the XDC Network.
