While football boasts a massive fanbase worldwide, its role is often limited to that of a spectator, leaving the opportunity for a tangible stake in the sport largely untapped. This is the gap that 0xFútbol, a Web3 hub for football fans, aims to fill.
“We want to give billions of football fans worldwide the opportunity to actually own football,” said Agu Rodríguez, founder and CEO of 0xFútbol and a former football player, during a recent Coinpectra live AMA.

To achieve this, 0xFútbol combines elements of sports, gaming and market dynamics, aiming to create a new and dynamic experience for football fans. By building a variety of products in parallel, the platform aims to cater to every type of fan, from the casual gamer to the hardcore strategist.
A multi-product ecosystem for every fan
One of these products is MetaSoccer, an online football manager game. According to Rodríguez, MetaSoccer has already attracted over 50,000 users, with more than 5,000 teams playing each month. Within the game, users can own clubs, players, scouts and other key elements of the football world as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
For a more casual entry point, 0xFútbol offers Wonderkid, a game that is available as a Telegram Mini App. Rodríguez explained that its hyper-casual, Tamagotchi-style format provides a simple introduction to Web3 and digital ownership.
In Wonderkid, users train young soccer players until they reach a professional level, at which point they can be transferred into the more complex MetaSoccer game. “The idea is for users to realize that they can do much more than just play, that they can actually take and use their assets wherever they want,” said Rodríguez.
The ecosystem also includes a football-focused prediction market, Fútbol PM, which is set to launch its beta in the third quarter of 2025, with a broad focus on “everything football touches.”
In addition to match outcomes, it will also cover mid- and long-term predictions on everything from player transfers to league promotions, extending into gaming and esports. For instance, users might predict whether Cristiano Ronaldo will retire next year or which club will be promoted to the Premier League.
Rodríguez emphasized the platform’s decentralized approach to creating these markets. “The community creates the questions, not us,” he explained, “just like Pump.fun does with memecoins.” Following this model, FUTBOL tokenholders can propose new markets, stake tokens to back these markets and invite others to supply liquidity. A market only becomes active after it generates sufficient community attention and liquidity.
Activating the global fanbase
Another 0xFútbol product, Ultras, has evolved from an NFT profile picture collection into a full-fledged engagement platform for professional football clubs. It addresses the underutilization of club assets like training sessions, museum tours and merchandise with the goal of transforming the fan experience.
Ultras aims to do this by enabling clubs to create onchain-validated tasks for fans, such as attending a match, creating social media content or playing a specific game. “It’s like a combination of a task-based engagement platform and Pokémon Go, but with the energy of football fandom,” Rodríguez noted.
Uniting all of these products and experiences is the FUTBOL token, which serves as both a flexible gateway and an incentive across the ecosystem. To foster long-term stability and align with the project’s ownership ethos, its tokenomics feature structured vesting schedules and lockups — a clear departure from projects that offer large early unlocks to insiders.
“If we can bring together millions of football fans and educate them about the importance of ownership, we can create a revolution that will change the way football is done,” Rodríguez concluded.
